Nintendo are selling Wii’s faster than stores can stock them and some may believe that they have no need to replace the Wii just yet, but not everyone has this view and some believe that Wii 1.5 / 2 will be coming in 2010-11.

Looking at the release dates below also suggests that the Nintendo Wii sucessor should be around by 2011 -

NES (nationwide)  : 1986
SNES                   : 1991
Nintendo 64         : 1996
GameCube           : 2001
Wii                      : 2006  
Wii 2                   : 2011 ?

The expected upgdrades are much improved processing power & storage capacity to compete with the PS and the XBOX and also support for Blue-Ray disks. Other improvements include a 2x clockspeed and 4x RAM.
An improved and innovative control system is also expected.

It will be interesting to see when the next Wii will come out. Since it wasn't talked about at E3 this year, I don't think it will be next year, but maybe in 2012. http://www.aquabedding.org
